Almost 5 stars😅.. so Pop Star is the first book in Eden's Famous series. The story picks up with a character we could see in the last book of the Fake Boyfriends series, Hat Trick.. Harley.Harley's been in a boy band since he was a teenager. He was basically in the heart of millions of teenage girls from the start and was forced to hide his sexuality... yeah he's gay and all the girls who adore him would be devastated if he came out. He has a fake fiancée and everything, that cost him his last relationship.Now that the band is broken up and he's pursuing his own voice and success, fans go all out to see him.. maybe a little too much. He needs a bodyguard.Brix works for a professional military company that does NOT specialise in protection... but Harley offers a lot of money and Brix needs it. He's never heard of Harley before but he cannot deny his attraction.. he needs to remain professional.. it's only six months living with him.Harley and Brix's story is truly amazing. I absolutely loved the crazy fan aspect and Harley's struggles with coming out in the music industry is real. That industry is almost as cruel to gay musicians as the sports industry to its gay athletes. He tries to find his voice after having been forced to produce the same happy popsongs that's requiered from a boy band. He finds inspiration in Brix's team, Mike Bravo company, and Brix himself shows him a life he never imagined he could have.Brix also struggled with his sexuality in the military and with his father. He has responsibilities and he needs the money from Harley to get by. At first they're just messing with each other but they become fast friends and try to support each other.It is really amazing to see their realtionship grow. My only little problem was that I would've loved to see more of their struggles and hardships before they came into each other's lives. That would've added a little more intensity.But still... I loved this story and I can't wait for the next book and the Mike Bravo series.
